British Council – Inviting applications
British Council in collaboration with Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune is organising Newton Bhabha Workshops on Opportunities for Widening Participation of Women in Science – Science Journalism. The primary purpose of this programme is to create a pool of trained personnel who can provide the support framework essential for the scientific enterprise of the nation.
The workshops aim to generate avenues to retain trained womanpower in science by targeting those who are making a transition from education to scientific careers, a stage where there is maximum attrition. The programme will also raise awareness about varied career options in science and provide opportunities for professional development among women scientists through showcasing work done by women scientists and access to professional networks in India and the UK. It would lead to capacity building by providing Indian women scientists access to training and professional development in Science Journalism.
