The NCC Unit conduct Cycle expedition every year
We are happy to put on record that due to the efforts put in by our NCC ex- and regular cadets and also our sponsors and donors, our cycle expedition has now become a regular activity since it started in 2007-08. The current cycle expedition was our 11thsocial and adventure activity on bi-cycle.
Recently our College N.C.C. has successfully completed the Cycle Expedition from Ghatkopar (Mumbai)-Parli(Maharashtra)between 15thJanuary and 21thJanuary 2018, keeping the traditions of adventure activities of N.C.C. organization.
The previous cycling expedition organized were-
- Mumbai to Purandhar (Maharashtra) 2007-2008.
- Mumbai to Ashtavinayak (circle route) (Maharashtra) 2008-2009.
- Mumbai to Wagha Border (Punjab) 2009-2010.
- Mumbai to Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) 2010-2011.
- Mumbai to Dwarka (Gujarat) 2011-2012.
- Mumbai to Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh) 2012-2013.
- Mumbai – Nasik – Kasa – Mumbai 2013-2014.
- Mumbai to OTA(Chennai) 2014-2015
- Mumbai to RIMC(Dehradun) 2015-2016
- Mumbai to Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) 2016-2017
11.Mumbai to Parli(Maharashtra)2017-2018
The current feat was achieved by our 10 N.C.C cadets. The team was accompanied by 6 (our 5 Ex-NCC and 1 current 3rdyear cadet) escorts, (4 on motorcycle & 2 in Canter). During the expedition the team passed through cities and rural areas of Maharashtra covering a distance of about 770 Kms. The expedition was completed on cycle in 7 days (1 rest day included) with an average of 120 Km per day.

The feat was achieved by our 10 N.C.C cadets. The team was accompanied by 6 escorts, (4 on motor cycle & 2 in Canter) .During the expedition the team passed through Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and covered a distance of about 824 Km. The expedition was completed on cycle in 10 days (1 rest day included) with an average of 120 km per day.
Our College N.C.C. has successfully completed the Cycle Expedition from Ghatkopar (Mumbai)- Dehradun(RIMC) between14THDecember – 28thDecember 2015, keeping the traditions of adventure activities of N.C.C. organization The current feat was achieved by our 10(+1 reserve) N.C.C cadets. The team was accompanied by 4 (our 3 Ex-NCC and 1 current 3rdyear cadet) escorts, (2 on motorcycle & 2 in Canter). During the expedition the team passed through cities and rural areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Utarakhand covering a distance of about 1684 Kms. The expedition was completed on cycle in 15 days (1 rest day included) with an average of 121 km per day.
The R.j College N.C.C. has successfully completed the Cycle Expedition from Ghatkopar (Mumbai) to Chennai OTA (Andrapradesh) between 20thNovember, 2014 to 05thDecember 2014, keeping the traditions of adventure activities of N.C.C. organization. The feat was achieved by our 10 N.C.C cadets. The team was accompanied by 4 escorts, (1 on motor cycle & 1 in Canter) .During the expedition the team passed through Maharashtra and covered a distance of about 1350 kms. The expedition was completed on cycle in 15 days (2 rest days included) with an average of 110 km per day.
The R.J. College N.C.C. has successfully completed the Cycle Expedition from Ghatkopar (Mumbai) to Kasa – Nashik (Maharashtra) between 20thDecember and 25thDecember 2013. The feat was achieved by our 10 N.C.C cadets. The team was accompanied by 4 escorts, (1 on motor cycle & 1 in Canter) .During the expedition the team passed through Maharashtra and covered a distance of about 383 Km. The expedition was completed on cycle in 6 days (1 rest day included) with an average of 70 km per day.
Our College N.C.C. has successfully completed the Cycle Expedition from Ghatkopar (Mumbai) Shriharikota (Andhra Pradesh) between 16thDecember, 2012 to 30thDecember 2013. The feat was achieved by our 10 N.C.C cadets. The team was accompanied by 4 escorts, (2 on motor cycle & 2 in Canter) . During the expedition the team passed through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and covered a distance of about 1477 Km. The expedition was completed on cycle in 15 days (2 rest days included) with an average of 150 km per day.
This was the 3rdbiggest Cycle expediton conducted by RJC NCC Cadets from Mumbai to Dwarka (Gujarat) between 16thand 30thDecember 2012. They covered a distance of 1477 Km. The expedition was successfully completed by 10 cadets alongwith 04 escorts.
Our College N.C.C. has successfully completed the Cycle Expedition from Ghatkopar (Mumbai) to Kanyakumari (Tamilnadu) between 16thDecember, 2010 and 5thJanuary 2011. The feat was achieved by our 10 N.C.C cadets. The team was accompanied by 4 escorts, (2 on motor cycle & 2 in Canter) .During the expedition the team passed through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, and covered a distance of about 1802 kms. The expedition was completed on cycle in 15 days (2 rest days included) with an average of 150 km per day.
The NCC Unit of Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College organized a social awareness program on 10-11 October, 2009 at Shantivan, Panvel. The program was attended by 44 cadets, One H.I. and One A.N.O.. The team was divided into two groups. Twenty four cadets travelled the distance of 74 Kms to Shantivan on bicycles while remaining cadets went by train. The Kushtarog Niwaran Samiti, Shantivan is a Grass root level NGO. The Samiti was established in 1952 by Shri. Govind Kashiram Shinde. The centre of its activities is Shantivan. The Samiti’s main object is Leprosy eradication. The Samiti during last 20 years had detected 5000 leprosy patients of which 4800 patients has been cured so far. The activities involved are Aged, Agriculture, Child welfare, Disability, Education, Forestry, Health, Poverty, Rural Development, Tribal issues, Water, Women’s issues.RJC NCC Cadets also organized a cycle expedition from Mumbai to Wagha Border (Punjab) between 16th December, 2009 and 07thJanuary, 2010 covering a distance of around 1880 km.
The NCC Unit of R.J.College undertook a Cycling Expedition from Mumbai to Ashtavinayak & back (850 Kms) between 17th– 26thOCT. 2008. A team of 09 cadets and 01 Ex- NCC escort accomplished the task.
The NCC Unit of R.J.College undertook a Cycling Expedition from Mumbai to Purandhar & back (400 Kms) between 25th– 29thJan. 2008. The task was accomplished by 10 NCC cadets.
Cycling cum Trekking Expedition Camp conducted by Maharashtra NCC Directorate at Pune From Pune-Wai- Mahabaleshwar-Raigad-Murud- Alibaug- Lonavala- Pune (800 Kms.) and covering the Historical forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj like Sinhgad, Torna, Purandhar, Pratapgad and Raigad. The cadets who participated were:
